The Cinematographers Society of Nigeria (CSN) has reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and the welfare of technical crew members in Nigeria’s film and television industry.
The CSN made the reaffirmation during its first meeting of the year on Monday, March 24 in Lagos.
A key highlight of the meeting was the launch of CSN’s official website, which now serves as a registration and profiling platform for new and existing members.
Prospective members must apply through the portal, undergo a review by the governing board, and pass a professional and behavioral background check before being admitted.
The meeting was attended by industry leaders and CSN members, including Emmanuel Nwosu, Uzezi Akpata, Chidiebere Chimobi, John Aduloju, Jonathan Gbemutor, Byron Ene, Dr. Victor Okhai, and Barnabas Emordi.
The society, formerly known as the Nigeria Society of Cinematographers (NSC), was founded in 1999 and inaugurated in 2002 under the leadership of Isa Abubakar, with key founding members including Amaka Igwe and Zik Zulu.
It is a full member of IMAGO, the International Federation of Cinematographers, making it only the second African country to achieve this status after South Africa.
