Chet Hanks Taps Father Tom Hanks for ‘Forrest Gump’-Inspired “You Better Run” Music Video

This time, it’s not Tom Hanks running but rather his son, Chet Hanks.

The music video (below) for Something Out West’s — the duo consisting of Chet and Drew Arthur — new song “You Better Run” features scenes inspired by Tom’s 1994 classic film Forrest Gump and an appearance by the Oscar winner.

One of the most memorable lines from the film is when young Jenny (Hanna Hall) says to a young Forrest (Michael Conner Humphreys), “Run, Forrest, Run,” as he’s being chased by bullies on bicycles. Throughout the film, the line symbolizes Forrest’s tendency to keep moving forward, even when facing challenges as a grown man, played by Tom.

In the “You Better Run” music video, Chet recreates the Forrest Gump scene, but this time, he’s the one running from bullies in a red pickup truck.
