Celebrity MasterChef: Vikas Khanna recalls his struggling days as a Chef; says 'America gaya tab bhi zidd pe adaa raha ki Desi khane ka time aayega, and the clock changed'

Celebrity MasterChef, judged by Ranveer Brar, Vikas Khanna, and Farah Khan, premieres on January 27. The channel is releasing back-to-back promo videos for this

cookery reality show

ahead of its premiere. The channel shared a new

Celebrity MasterChef

promo on their Instagram page. As the promo begins, Vikas Khanna is shown discussing his journey. Farah Khan then greets Vikas and mentions how he is the biggest promoter of Indian food.
The contestants praise Vikas as he enters with a tray in his hand. Farah added that Vikas has 8

Michelin stars

and is one of the world's biggest chefs, alongside Gordon Ramsay. Ranveer Brar revealed that Vikas' accomplishments have even reached the White House.
As they discussed this, a few peeks from Vikas' journey were shown. Ranveer Brar added that Vikas Restaurant has also received a lot of praise. The contestants applauded Vikas.
Reflecting on his path, Vikas Khanna stated, "When we started college, they never taught us Indian food. They always asked us to study French and Western cuisines. Humein kehte the 'Desi chefs cannot be Michelin chefs.' (They used to tell us that Desi people couldn't be Michelin chefs; only white people could.) Vikas stated why he chose to change this story.

He further recalled, "Every classmate of mine opted for Western food except for me, and I didn't get a job after school. Usne kaha ye Desi chef hai, desi ki toh aukat nahi hai. America gaya tab bhi zidd pe adaa raha ki Desi khane ka time aayega. And the clock changed." (They claimed I am a Desi Chef, and Desi has no standards. When I travelled to America, I was certain that the era of Desi food would arrive.)
Vikas claimed that when Donald Trump was going to be president, he owned the number one reservation restaurant. Contestant Rajiv Adatia praised Vikas, saying that he had made every Indian proud. The caption for this promo said, "India's pride today and every day. Chef Vikas ko welcome karte hue dil bhar aata hai."

Celebrity MasterChef features various celebrities as contestants, including Tejasswi Prakash, Dipika Kakkar, Gaurav Khanna and others. The show will premiere on January 27 and air Monday through Friday at 8 p.m.
