The town of Bole is in a jubilant mode as Savannah Region is officially equipped with a new Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) office.

The new office would bring much-needed relief to drivers and motor riders who previously had to endure long journeys to Tamale or Wa to access basic DVLA services.

At the commissioning ceremony of the new regional office, the Member of Parliament for Bole and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Yussif Sulemana, urged staff to uphold professionalism at all times.

He warned that any acts of misconduct would not be tolerated, emphasising that he would support the DVLA leadership in taking disciplinary action where necessary.

“I want to be very clear. Anyone who misbehaves at this office, especially the natives who’ve been given the opportunity to work here, should know that I will not hesitate to support the CEO and the institution’s rules to take action, including dismissal,” he stated.

Mr Sulemana also expressed deep appreciation to DVLA CEO Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey and President John Dramani Mahama for helping bring development and job opportunities to Bole and the wider Savannah Region. 

“I encourage all residents to take advantage of this office and acquire their documents here, so they avoid harassment from the police for not having proper documentation,” the MP added.

DVLA CEO Julius Neequaye Kotey, who was present at the event, cautioned the public against engaging with middlemen or paying unofficial fees.

He assured that all official charges would be publicly displayed, and clients should only make payments as directed.

Mr. Kotey also extended gratitude to Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso I for releasing 60 acres of land for DVLA to eventually construct its permanent regional facilities.
