BNB Chain Launches BNB Hack: AI, DePIN, DeSci & DeSoc Edition to Advance Real-World Blockchain Use Cases

Published 1 day ago3 minute read

BNB Chain, the leading blockchain by transaction volume and daily active users, has announced the launch of BNB Hack: AI, DePIN, DeSci & DeSoc Edition, a continuous open-entry hackathon designed to accelerate innovation in decentralized infrastructure, science, society and AI. Building on the success of the BNB AI Hack and strong developer interest, we're evolving it into something bigger: BNB Hack — a broader initiative for real-world blockchain innovation. Submissions can be made at any time here.

The new hackathon aims to drive the adoption of Web3 technologies by supporting builders across four emerging verticals: AI, Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN), Decentralized Science (DeSci), and Decentralized Society (DeSoc). These tracks represent critical areas where blockchain technology can transform how devices interact, how scientific knowledge is shared, and how communities form and organize online.

Like the BNB AI Hack, this hackathon is always open. Developers can submit their projects at any time, building at their own pace. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling bi-weekly basis, offering flexibility for participants while maintaining momentum in the selection process. Successful projects will be eligible for tiered rewards, ecosystem support, and potential advancement into BNB Chain’s Most Valuable Builder (MVB) program and upcoming demo days.

The hackathon will feature both virtual and in-person components. Participants will benefit from mentorship, technical guidance, and a dedicated support group to assist with team formation, development questions, and integration with BNB Chain technologies. Workshops featuring experts from the ecosystem will be announced in the coming weeks.

To encourage innovation, BNB Chain has outlined suggested directions for each track which can be found here. Projects will be evaluated across a number of criteria, including innovation, design, usability, technical implementation, community engagement, roadmap clarity, and business model sustainability. To be eligible, submissions must be deployed or connected to opBNB or BSC mainnet/testnet, be open source, and demonstrate functionality with a minimum of two successful transactions during the hackathon period.

The reward structure is tiered as follows:

Winners will also receive exposure through BNB Chain’s ecosystem channels, potential seed funding or grants, and marketing support. Each of the four to five selected projects will be showcased through dedicated demo sessions on BNB Chain’s YouTube and X channels. In addition to developer incentives, BNB Chain is actively seeking sponsors to support the hackathon. Sponsors will gain visibility across the ecosystem, direct access to developer talent, and the opportunity to engage with the next generation of blockchain solutions in AI, DePIN, DeSci, and DeSoc.

Interested participants can apply through the official hackathon portal. Updates and announcements will be shared via BNB Chain’s official X account.

BNB Chain is a community-driven blockchain ecosystem that is removing barriers to Web3 adoption. It is composed of:

Setting a high bar for security, the AvengerDAO community protects BNB Chain users while Red Alarm provides a real-time risk-scanner for Dapps. The ecosystem also offers a range of monetary and ecosystem rewards as part of its Builder Support Program. Tooling, such as the AI Solution, is also available for developers to explore.

For more, users can follow BNB Chain on X or start exploring via the Dapp library.
