Black Kulcha Music releases 'Love & Reasons Riddim' album
Black Kulcha Music released their highly-anticipated reggae album titled 'Love & Reasons Riddim' on 5th February 2025.
This cross-continental project brings together a powerful blend of reggae and African music, featuring gifted artists from Ghana and East Africa, with a collaborative production by UK-based Ghanaian-origin producer Mark Darlington and Eastern European reggae producer, Vladimir Krkljus from Serbia.
‘Love & Reasons Riddim’ is a sonic celebration of unity, love, and cultural exchange, blending the timeless sounds of reggae with the vibrant melodies of West and East Africa. Produced by Black Kulcha (Mark Darlington), known for his soulful, roots-driven reggae sound, alongside the innovative beats of Vladimir Krkljus, whose work merges reggae and global musical influences, this album showcases a sound that is both fresh and deeply connected to tradition.
Drawing from the rich musical landscapes of Ghana, Jamaica, Europe, Malawi and Zimbabwe, ‘Love & Reasons Riddim’ explores themes of love and social consciousness, while embracing the diverse musical traditions of the African diaspora. Each track on the album tells a story, offering a deep, rhythmic journey that connects the Caribbean roots of reggae with the pulse of African melodies. Drawing on reggae’s soulful rhythms and African melodic influences, the album bridges the cultural gap between Africa and the Caribbean.
“This album is a reflection of my own journey, growing up with reggae in Ghana and experiencing reggae as a universal language,” says Mark Darlington, founder of Black Kulcha Music. 'Love & Reasons Riddim' is a testament to the power of music to unite different cultures and bring messages of peace, love, and solidarity to the forefront. It’s about celebrating our shared humanity.
