BetMGM bonus code POSTBET for NHL playoffs: Oilers vs. Kings Game 2 odds, prediction

Published 3 weeks ago3 minute read

Game 1 between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings was all over the place.

The Kings raced out to a 4-0 lead, but the Oilers stormed back in the third period to get it to 5-5, but that lead was gone less than a minute later.

All of that added up to a ridiculous 6-5 victory for Los Angeles.

The Kings are a -125 favorite to win Game 2 on Wednesday evening.

Game 1 had a little bit of everything.

There was shoddy goaltending, mesmerizing play from Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, and a six-goal third period capped off by a last-minute winner.

It’s hard to glean too much from a game like that, but there were a couple of noteworthy developments that bettors should use for Game 2.

For one, you can expect the over to be a very trendy pick for Wednesday night.

Stuart Skinner has been inconsistent all season for the Oilers, and their backup goaltender Calvin Pickard won’t inspire much confidence, should they go that route.

Darcy Kuemper was superb for the Kings throughout the entire campaign, but playing against McDavid and Draisaitl can expose even the best goaltenders.

The other bets that will get a lot of support will be McDavid and Draisaitl props.

They were both banged up for chunks of the second half of the season, but looked like their dynamic selves in Game 1.

A lot of the betting activity around this series, and Game 1, was predicated on McDavid and Draisaitl not being at 100 percent.

That has been put to bed, but the biggest issue for the Oilers remains in goal.

With that being the case, you’d imagine that Edmonton would focus on keeping things tight defensively to give its goalie the best chance to succeed.

That could lead to a quiet, low-event start to the game, which would be just fine for the Kings.
