Since capturing the 2025 NCAA women’s basketball championship, Azzi Fudd has been everywhere, landing major deals and staying firmly in the spotlight.
Fudd has also remained a loyal supporter of her former UConn teammate and close friend, Paige Bueckers, who was selected No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Most recently, Fudd was courtside in Atlanta for the Wings’ matchup against the Dream, where she gave a live interview and reflected on life after a title run.

“Life has been incredible, you know,” Fudd said. “You just add ‘as a champ’ to anything—it makes it ten times better. A hundred times better.”
When asked about Bueckers’ game, Fudd was full of praise. “Just to be here now watching her live—it’s a moment of pride. I’m super proud of her.”
She went on to highlight Bueckers’ on-court impact: “I feel like Paige is a sneaky good defender. She’s also an incredible passer, and I think that part of her game was kind of overlooked last year.” Fudd added that she’s excited to watch Bueckers facilitate and is looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season unfolds.

Fudd also touched on what’s ahead for UConn, as the team reloads with returning talent and new additions. “This team is going to be really good,” she said. “We go back in about a week, so I’m super excited just to start—get that grind going again and just to see how we all mesh and how great we can be together again.”
She closed with a clear goal in mind: making another run at the national championship.
