The National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives at Awutu Senya East in the Central Region have accused the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor, of sidelining the party's constituency leadership following her victory in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV, and monitored by GhanaWeb on Friday, May 16, 2025, the Constituency Organiser, Daniel Takyi Mensah, expressed concern about what he described as neglect by the MP.

"We have realised that constituency executives who worked tirelessly to ensure this seat was secured have been sidelined by our Honourable Member of Parliament, Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor," he stated.

Meanwhile, the MP's Spokesperson, Michael Asamoah Baffoe, also speaking on Channel One TV, dismissed the claims.

He suggested that the claims are motivated by personal grievances.

"People are not getting their way, and once they are not getting their way, they are out for blood, So, they are bent on doing whatever they can to get their way. And if that includes even destroying the name of the MP, they couldn’t care less. And that is where I have a problem," he said.
