Nelson Giants (NBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American 193cm guard Andrew Jones (college: Texas). Jones moved there from Kapfenberg Bulls in Austrian BSL league. In 15 games he recorded very impressive stats: 17.2ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg last season. He also played for Alftanes in Icelandic Subway League where in 10 BSL games he averaged remarkable 19.3ppg, 4.7rpg, 3.5apg and 1.1spg.
Jones has played previously professionally in France (Orchesien BC) and Germany (Rasta Vechta and Vechta 2).
Among many awards he won German 2.Bundesliga Pro A championship title in 2023.
He graduated from University of Texas in 2022 and it will be his third season in pro basketball.
