Mohamed Salah seemed to have secured the win for the Reds with a 73rd-minute goal, only for Everton captain James Tarkowski to rescue a point in the 98th minute with a dramatic late header.

Emotions ran high as the match ended in controversy, with Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, manager Slot, and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff all being dismissed alongside Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucouré.

The chaos erupted when Doucouré’s signature celebration in front of the Liverpool supporters sparked a heated exchange with Jones, leading to a wider scuffle that saw tensions boil over on the pitch.

Metro UK reported that after the Red's intense 2-2 draw with Everton, manager Slot received a red card from Oliver in a heated post-match exchange.

Slot initially approached Oliver for a handshake, but his gesture was perceived as sarcastic and confrontational, prompting the referee to send him off.

As he received the red card, Slot reacted in disbelief, questioning the reason behind why he was red-carded.

‘You gave me a red for that?!’, Slot exclaimed.

Speaking after the game, Liverpool defender van Dijk voiced his frustration over Oliver’s officiating, questioning the referee’s control of the heated derby.

‘You saw how they celebrated the goal and they have all the right to,’ Van Dijk said.
‘But I think Doucoure in the end wanted to provoke our fans, that is what I saw, and Curtis didn’t think that was the right thing to do.'

Reuters reported that the Reds boss has been handed a two-match touchline ban following his red card in the 2-2 draw against Everton on Wednesday.

As a result, he will miss Liverpool's upcoming Premier League fixtures against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa.

With Slot suspended due to his red card, his assistant coach Heitinga is set to take charge of Liverpool’s upcoming match against Wolves.

Although he won't be on the touchline, Slot will continue overseeing Liverpool's preparations for their next Premier League match.
