Seema’s got a lot to consider, and not just because her introduction to Adam the landscaper involves him assuring Carrie, “I’ve never met a kitty I couldn’t bend to my will”. Sir, this is a Wendy’s. Between the flight to Virginia (where the flight attendant is Drew Droege, star of Luca Guiadagnino’s Queer and a veritable queer legend owing to his early internet Chloe Sevigny parodies) and their hotel – where she eats a bucket of fried chicken in snakeskin-printed silk pyjamas, single-handedly illustrating the true aspirational glamour possible for a single, childfree 50-something – Seema flip-flops between what she’ll do. Open her own firm or be Serhant’s No.2. Carrie, cosplaying as her chill alter-ego “Carrie Golightly” tells her, “You don’t ask, you don’t get”. God bless Seema for pointing out the obvious: they came all this way “for lunch” because she’s afraid of asking for more from Aidan.
