Anambra 2025: YPP candidate tackles APGA government over killings, kidnappings

The governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, Sir Paul Chukwuma had vowed to tackle insecurity in Anambra state within 90 days if elected.
The governorship election holds in the state on November 8, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Some of the 16 political parties cleared for the election have already started campaigns like the All Progressives Congress APC All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and YPP.
Speaking with reporters in Awka Saturday, Chukwuma, who was one time national Auditor of APC, berated the APGA administration for not tackling kidnappings and killings going on in the state since over three years.
“The security situation in Anambra state is appalling and the residents are no longer happy.
“The traditional institution, churches, organizations and residents are living in fear because kidnapping and killings have become a daily ritual. The young students live in fear.
“The Operation Udo Ga Achi and Agunechemba security outfits which were launched by the state government to compliment the Police and other security outfits are a scam” Chukwuma alleged.
Meanwhile, one of the popular Anglican Priests in the state, Rev Canon Lumen Kristy Eboh,has declared that the YPP candidate will be the next Governor of the state.
Eboh, of God in Action Adoration Ministry, made the declaration during a night vigil where the Deputy Governorship candidate of the YPP, Uzu Okagbue attended in Mr Peter Obi’s Agulu community.
The Priest said the current leadership in Anambra State has driven the state into darkness, adding that Anambra deserves light.
He maintained that the current government in Anambra State has lost it and has in consequence thrown the state into darkness.
