A fresh celebrity spat is unfolding between comedian Oga Obinna and popular socialite Amber Ray, and it’s already proving to be popcorn-worthy for gossip enthusiasts.

Obinna stirred the pot during his My Mistakes comedy event, which had been making headlines for its sold-out crowd and celebrity guest list.
However, it was not the punchlines that stole the spotlight, it was his candid remarks about Amber Ray and their seemingly strained relationship.
Speaking at a press briefing during the event, Obinna shared that he and Amber were no longer close as they once were.
While addressing their changed dynamic, Obinna unearthed a previously unknown incident about a music video shoot for his song Kado.
He claimed Amber Ray was the main love interest in the video and that they had 'negotiated' a payment for her appearance.
"I wouldn't say that there is beef between me and Amber Ray or Rapudo. However, when I was shooting the video for Kado, the main love interest was Amber Ray and we agreed and negotiated that I was going to pay her a certain amount of money. So the day of the shoot they came very late, they were a little bit tipsy. Now when we were shooting she did not want me to dance with her," he explained.

Amber Ray, in her true nature, was not about to let that narrative slide.
In a strongly worded rebuttal, the influencer took to social media to shut down Obinna’s claims, starting with the accusation that she was paid to appear in the video.
“I was not paid. Obinna personally asked me for a favour to appear in one scene in his video and I agreed. Out of goodwill, he later mentioned he’d send KSh 40,000 for fuel, which to date has never been sent," she wrote.
Amber added that the agreement was simple and clear: one scene and nothing more. At no point, she said, did they discuss any choreography or cosy dancing.
“Even in my early vixen days, there were boundaries I didn’t cross and I still uphold them. I only dance with my man. That’s a personal value rooted in self-respect,” she stated.
According to Amber, when she arrived at the video shoot, the atmosphere had shifted, and the script was no longer what had been agreed upon.
“I was being asked, actually told, to do things I hadn’t signed up for. When I expressed discomfort, I was dismissed and disrespected. So I walked away. This isn’t drama. This is about setting the record straight,” she concluded.
The back and forth between the celebrities has been highly entertaining for netizens.

In other news, Amber recently took to Instagram to showcase the lavish destinations she has visited over the years, shutting down critics who accused her of only travelling locally.
She clarified that her choice to travel within the region is not due to affordability but preference.
During one trip to Arusha, Amber revealed she stayed at a hotel charging KSh 129,455, per night, including breakfast.
However, her ex, Sierra Leonean Ibrahim Kabba, responded in the comments, challenging her claim by stating he was the one who took the photo she shared from Tanzania.
