Alton Brown sure knows how to hold a grudge.

In a January interview with Chowhound, the television personality discussed his opinions on fast food chains, revealing that he still hasn’t forgiven Chick-fil-A for a menu change made nearly a decade ago.

Like many Chick-fil-A customers, Brown is still sore about the restaurant’s decision to nix its fan-favorite coleslaw side from menus in 2015.

“I live in the South, so Chick-fil-A is a thing,” he told the outlet. “I broke up with them when they stopped making slaw. So I can't talk about it, but I'm still not over it. I love their slaw.”

For people like Brown, not even access to the recipe has been able to heal the wound left by the side’s absence from the menu.

The Food Network star, who grew up in Georgia, isn't alone. Almost 10 years later, its cold, crisp tang still lingers in the hearts and mouths of Southerners. In fact, there isn't a single Chick-fil-A social media post that doesn't have at least one comment demanding the return of the old-school coleslaw.

But Brown hasn’t broken up with all fast-food restaurants. While he does try hard to avoid them, he said there is one chain that might be capable of seducing him.

“I think that if I was going to feel the pull, the magnet pull, it'd probably be Arby's,” he told Chowhound. “Those Arby's roast beef sandwiches are freaking magical ... It's funny because the last time that I had one, and I mean it's been a while, it tasted exactly like I remembered it tasting from childhood. Whereas every other fast food tastes different to me than from my childhood.”
