Alsace wine route festival returns with expanded program and international flavors

The Tournée des Terroirs returns to Alsace from June 1 to July 20, marking its third edition along the region’s renowned Wine Route. This event, organized by the Comité Interprofessionnel des Vins d’Alsace (CIVA), aims to showcase the diversity of Alsace’s vineyards and highlight the work of local producers. The tour will take place every Sunday during this period, stopping in eight different towns from north to south, including Katzenthal, Hunawihr, Dambach-la-Ville, and Kaysersberg.

Launched in 2023 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Alsace Wine Route, the Tournée des Terroirs blends elements of a traveling music festival with wine tasting experiences. This year, more than one hundred businesses from the Alsatian wine sector are participating. Visitors can expect around 35 workshops and activities at each stop, featuring a wide range of local winemakers.

The program includes a pop-up bar run by local vintners, themed tastings designed to help visitors understand the unique characteristics of Alsatian wines and terroirs, culinary demonstrations, and guided walks through the vineyards. The atmosphere is intended to be family-friendly and lively, with music provided by a collective of Alsatian DJs.

A special focus for this edition is on Japanese cuisine, in connection with the upcoming participation of Alsace Wines at Expo 2025 in Osaka. At least four chefs specializing in Japanese food will be present at various stops along the route. They will prepare dishes that pair with Alsatian wines, offering visitors a chance to discover new combinations between local wines and Japanese flavors.

The Tournée des Terroirs is designed to attract both locals and tourists interested in wine tourism and regional gastronomy. The event provides an opportunity for direct interaction with producers and chefs, as well as a chance to explore some of Alsace’s most picturesque villages and landscapes. All practical information and dates for each stop are available on the official website.
