(AFW) 2025 is officially on the horizon, and this year, it’s ushering in a new era.

Under the stewardship of the Australian Fashion Council (AFC) for the first time, AFW 2025 won’t be just about the runway—but about rewriting the rulebook. With a refreshed vision, a stacked lineup of both cult-favourite designers and rising stars, and an all-new industry-led approach, this year’s event is shaping up to be one of the most pivotal in recent history.

Scheduled from May 12 to 16 at Sydney’s iconic Carriageworks and other notable locations, this year’s event promises a curated showcase of Australia’s best talent in fashion.

“The schedule has been carefully curated to showcase the very best that Australian fashion has to offer,” said Kellie Hush, CEO AFC Australian Fashion Week, via a press release. “Our exceptional talent is in high demand both locally and abroad, highlighting the criticality of this dedicated global platform for them to shine.”

The event’s evolution follows IMG’s departure as the previous organiser. The AFC’s takeover signals a renewed focus on collaboration with the fashion industry, emphasising the needs of designers and the creative economy. This year’s lineup not only honours Australia’s rich design heritage but also highlights the contemporary interpretations that continue to shape our fashion identity.
