The late blogger left behind a young family, including one child who travelled to Nairobi with his mother and grandparents.
Eric Omondi shared a video of himself joyfully engaging the slain teacher's son in one of the most popular sports — football.
He also shared a brief background on how little George Myles Omondi ended up with a soccer ball:
"This is Albert Ojwang’s only child, George. As they walked in with his mother and grandparents, he saw us playing football and joined us — totally unaware of what is going on. He drank milk, ate some cookies, and appeared happy just being around family, though in a strange place. He totally has no idea what is going on. We are going to secure his future," he wrote.
Social media users were in awe as the little boy happily played amost unaware of what had happened to his father.
They flocked to the comment section to pen moving messages as they wished him well in the future.
Juliet Kihima:
"But God surely works in mysterious ways... Imagine if this child had not been born — Mzee’s lineage would have ended just like that. He will grow to be greater than his father. May God be with him in this world full of uncertainties."
Jenniffer Chepkemoi:
"I can see the grandfather is very careful with his movements from behind. That's his only remaining bloodline. Thanks, Omosh, for lighting up their moments. God bless you."
Jannet Anyango:
"This kept me giggling like a happy mother watching her child be joyful. Thank you to the kind-hearted man, Eric Omondi, for playing with his namesake, Myles Omondi."
Agoro Dalawa:
"I don't want to be the wet blanket, but in this case, please open a trust fund for the boy instead of handing over cash. We saw what happened with that runner. 😳 Money brings enemies. The wife is young — she will obviously remarry. The grandparents... well... If you're collecting money to secure his future, let's make sure that's exactly where it goes."
Benard Ogada:
"Where’s Gladys Wanga and the other ODM brigade? Was Ong'odo's death more important than that of any other Kenyan? I thought Wanga and Kaluma were going to apply the same drama and theatrics...
Ciku Ngenyura:
"It’s touching to see how children can bring a sense of innocence and joy even in challenging times. His happiness and carefree nature must have been a small but meaningful comfort to everyone around him. Sending love and strength to the family during this time."
