He spoke calmly, thanking Kenyans for their overwhelming financial and emotional support during this difficult time.

Meshack explained that many Kenyans, eager to contribute, had been confused by the presence of several paybill numbers.

Speaking with composed emotion, he expressed deep gratitude:

“I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the sacrifices you have made since Albert's death. We have come this far because of your support—through prayers, phone calls, and comforting messages. Thank you for treating Albert like your son and brother,” he shared.

Meshack acknowledged the immense support received and offered clarity on the verified paybill number.

“It was a difficult task, but ultimately, we obtained the official family paybill. It has been verified. I understand there are other paybills intended to help, but we will consolidate everything in the end so that we can move forward together,” he said.

He also affirmed that the family was actively following up on the late high school teacher’s case in pursuit for justice.

His wife and daughter-in-law stood quietly behind him as he spoke, sorrow etched on their faces.

Meshack remained strong and composed as he delivered the heartfelt message in a video update. Kenyan activist Njeri Wa Migwi later confirmed the family was safe following public concern.

“This family is in mourning and is currently in a safe house. It’s unfortunate that Albert’s father had to come forward to confirm that the paybill number he shared is correct,” she noted.

Following the video, Kenyans flooded the comment sections with messages of support and relief, vowing to continue standing by the family.

Fay Faith:

“I was worried they would pay him a visit and silence him forever... Kazi nzuri. Let him be safe until the killer and those who gave the orders are brought to justice.”

Linda Mokeira:

“They took the son's life. Let them allow this family to bury him in peace. God protect and keep this family safe 🙏.”

Timo N. Kamau:

“Huyu Mzee ni mwenye hekima na maarifa sana. Pole sana for the loss of your dear son.”

Galistus Marshall:

“One thing I’ve noticed about this Mzee—he is educated. His speech reflects wisdom and calm, even while grieving. Mzee is smart.”

In a related development, confusion arose after Eric Omondi and Hanifa Farsafi each launched separate paybill numbers for donations intended to support Ojwang’s family.

The move sparked online criticism, prompting both parties to issue clarifications amid concerns over a potential conflict of interest.

They faced backlash, with some accusing them of exploiting the tragedy for personal gain.
