Alaskan Bush People star told fans that he cut off the tip of his finger while chopping wood and needed to rush to the hospital.

“It’s been a while honestly since I have done any wood cutting and stuff, and I just wanted to split some wood. I was going to sort up a small fire and I accidentally missed and I hit my finger and I got the tip of it. So, we’re going to head to the hospital now,” Bear, 37, shared in an Instagram video update on Tuesday, April 1, grimacing as he gave a peek at his bandaged up injury on the ring finger of his right hand. “I got it on some ice and stuff and hear they can, like, reattach [it].”

“I have never missed before chopping wood. I have chopped wood so close to my hands … I’ve chopped millions of pieces of kindling. I don’t know how it happened,” Bear continued his Instagram post, garnering well-wishes from many of his followers on the platform.

“But I gotta go right now. I just wanted to let y’all guys know. Thank you very much for all your support. God bless,” he added.

Just days before, Bear updated fans on his mom ’s health in a TikTok video, revealing “she is doing a lot better and is basically completely healed.”

As In Touch previously reported in February, the family matriarch was medically evacuated after being rushed to the emergency room for “breathing issues.” After conducting tests, doctors diagnosed Ami with pneumonia, following which he told fans she is pretty much back to “normal.”

In another life update, Bear said that he is still looking for property in Alaska. “Alaska is one thing that is always on my mind,” the Discovery Channel alum shared, noting that he would love to show his three kids, River Anthony Billy Isaiah Brown, 5, Cove Gabriel Caden Brown, 2, and 7-month-old Everest Makai Joshua Brown, about his life on the land and how he used to hunt and fish.

Meanwhile, Bear and his wife, (née Adams), are going strong and enjoying their current home in Washington State.

“As for the family and the siblings, everyone is still around. I try not to give out their personal business as you’ll know, but yeah, people still get together and hang out. And we’re not quite as separated as some people might think online and all,” Bear revealed in his TikTok video.

Bear’s updates came just after he addressed the show cancellation reports in a video on March 26.

Although the reality star admitted that he and his family are “not filming” their show “right now,” he clarified, “Alaskan Bush People is not canceled.”

Alaskan Bush People last aired its season 14 finale in December 2022, and he pointed out that the show’s extended hiatus is due to Discovery’s “super big merger a few years ago.”

WarnerMedia merged with Discovery, Inc. to become Warner Bros. Discovery in April 2022.

“The official term for the show is that it is on hiatus,” he noted. “So, like, Discovery doesn’t really have any issues saying when a show’s canceled. They’ve canceled plenty of shows, and they normally announce it, and they’re like, ‘This show has been canceled,’ and they don’t mind saying that. But our show has not been canceled.”
