We are closely monitoring conditions for this weekend. Currently, the Storm Prediction Center has West Alabama split between a marginal and slight risk zone on Friday, while on Saturday, the entire coverage area is under a slight risk. In addition, we are still assessing Sunday, but the level of risk is uncertain for now.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham said that the timing for threats for Friday and Saturday is favorable for the afternoon and evening hours.

Spann said that “Most, but not necessarily all of the storms will come from about 2:00 until 10:00 p.m.”

The Townsquare Media Weather Center will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates.
