Paresh Rawal's exit from Priyadarshan’s Hera Pheri 3 took everyone by surprise. Fans are also disappointed that they won't be able to see their favourite Baburao on screen. In an interview, Akshay Kumar opened up about the film amid the ongoing controversy.
Akshay Kumar, who is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Kannappa, assured his fans that everything will go well.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, when the actor was asked about the recent developments of Hera Pheri 3, he said, "Whatever is happening is happening in front of you. Keeping my fingers crossed. I hope everything goes well." He added, "Everything will go well only. I know, for sure."
Post Paresh Rawal's exit from Hera Pheri 3, Akshay Kumar, through his production house, Cape of Good Films reportedly sued Rawal for Rs 25 crore, for allegedly sabotaging the film.
Pooja Tidke, Joint Managing Partner of Parinam Law Associate, which represents Kumar's company, had earlier told PTI, "I think there will be severe legal consequences. It's of course hurt the franchise. We have written to him letting him know that there are a lot of legal consequences involved."
She also said Rawal's decision to quit the film has affected everyone as there has been a "substantial amount of money already invested in the film" and shooting had already begun.
Paresh Rawal had reportedly returned his signing amount for Hera Pheri 3, with interest, for walking out of the film.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar's last release was Housefull 5. He will be now seen in Telugu fantasy drama Kannappa, where he is playing the role of Lord Shiva. The film releases in theatres on June 27, 2025.
