Air India has improved connectivity between the UK, Europe, Australia, and South-East Asia via India, reducing connection times to approximately 2.5 hours. The airline’s new campaign, ‘Via’, highlights these faster connections, promoting India as a global transit hub. Enhanced services at Delhi and Mumbai airports ensure seamless transfers and a comfortable travel experience for passengers.

Air India has optimised its international network to offer faster and more convenient connections for travellers from the UK and Europe to Australia and South-East Asia via India, and vice-versa. By reducing connection times to around 2.5 hours, the airline is enhancing its position as a key global transit hub.
This development is part of Air India’s long-term vision of strengthening India’s role in international travel. To promote these improvements, the airline has launched the ‘Via’ campaign, which highlights the efficiency and speed of its new flight connections.
The updated flight schedules now make Air India’s services among the fastest for travel between Europe and Australia or South-East Asia. Passengers will enjoy shorter transit times at Air India’s hubs in Delhi and Mumbai, with easy connections for onward travel across the region.
"India’s geographical advantage and impressive airport infrastructure, combined with Air India’s robust route network, offer convenient one-stop access for travellers from the West to East and vice-versa," said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer at Air India.
As part of this connectivity boost, Air India has enhanced the transit experience at both Delhi and Mumbai airports. Operations at Terminal 3 at Delhi Airport and Terminal 2 at Mumbai Airport now allow seamless same-terminal transfers for passengers travelling between the UK, Europe, Australia, and South-East Asia. These terminals feature world-class design, operational efficiency, and a blend of Indian heritage and cultural character.
Business Class passengers, Maharaja Club members, and eligible Star Alliance members can access exclusive lounges at these airports, ensuring a premium and comfortable experience during their stopovers. Through these upgrades, Air India aims to make international travel more accessible and convenient, cementing its role as a leading global airline.
