Adekunle Gold to become first Nigerian artiste to headline Orchestra show
Nigerian singer and songwriter, Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, will headline an orchestra performance at the 2025 edition of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
The singer will become the first Nigerian and second African artiste to achieve the feat.
The historic performance is set to take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Royal Festival Hall in London, where he will be joined on stage by the Guildhall Session Orchestra.
According to the organisers, Adekunle Gold will be the only Nigerian and African act on the lineup at this year’s festival, which will run from November 13 to 24, 2025, featuring top talents from across the globe.
Known for his genre-blending sound and rich live performances, the “Something Different” crooner is expected to deliver a refreshing mix of Afrobeats and classical orchestration at the finale.
Kosoko gained national attention in 2015 with “Sade”, a soulful remake of One Direction’s Story of My Life. Since then, he has released a string of successful albums including “Gold”, “About 30”, “Afro Pop Vol. 1”, and “Tequila Ever After”.
In 2023, he became one of the few Afrobeats acts to perform at Denmark’s famous Roskilde Festival.
The singer’s upcoming London Jazz Festival appearance is seen as another step in his mission to take Afrobeats to global stages while exploring new artistic directions.
