He noted that the existing feeder serving the area was overloaded, resulting in frequent outages and low voltage due to high load demands. “We recognised
that customers in this enclave were facing regular outages and low voltage because of the excess load on the old feeder.
With this new feeder, some customers will be transferred to relieve the load on the old one, meaning they will no longer experience frequent outages and low voltages,” he added.
He emphasised that the Accra East Region was dedicated to promoting local economic growth by ensuring stable power supply across the area.
He further stated that the commissioning of the feeder would provide convenience to customers reliant on electricity for their businesses, thereby boosting economic growth in the region.
The Accra East Region aims to enhance customer satisfaction and experience through various development projects that address their electricity needs. The new feeder is part of an initiative to reduce downtime and enhance the overall customer experience at Teshie New England, Tseaddo, Chain Homes, and nearby communities.
Moreover, Mr Otoo noted that this initiative would also facilitate quicker fault detection and isolation, enabling engineers to restore power swiftly in the event of disruptions.
He mentioned that the Accra East Region had undertaken several projects to improve service delivery and ensure customer satisfaction.
