Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, has accused the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) of being biased in the way they carry out their duties.

He was invited to appear before the NIB on February 26, 2025, over allegations he made against President John Dramani Mahama.

According to the NIB, the outspoken politician must present proof to back his claim that President Mahama is withholding GH¢550 million meant for dismissed appointees at the Jubilee House.

In an interview on Movement Television, he also accused the Mahama government of corruption in the hiring and firing of workers.

He told Channel One News in an interview on Saturday, February 22, Abronye that, “There was money intended for those employees whose appointments have been terminated, and no government will recruit without budgeting for that. So I’ll go and face them. I don’t see the criminal element in this. They said I should come and assist them in their investigation, so let’s go and take it from there.

"Then after that, we can interpret their invitation—whether they are trying to reintroduce the culture of silence that everyone spoke against some time ago. I don’t see the criminal element in this issue for the NIB to invite me to assist them when current government appointees have made wild allegations, yet the director of the NIB hasn’t invited any of them," citinewsroom quotes Abronye as saying.

He added, “There have been serious allegations that the Akyem mafia is hoarding gold outside, through the MIIF. There are claims of stolen money—many things. Yet, the director of the National Investigations Bureau did not invite any of them. So we will go and prove to them that they are being selective in their work.”
