In a statement shared on Facebook, the Minister confirmed that the meeting is scheduled to take place on the morning of Monday, April 7,  2025, at his office.

The invitation comes amid growing public and stakeholder concern over the economic impact of the tariff, which was announced on April 2, 2025, as part of a broad package of trade restrictions introduced by the Trump administration.

The measures target several countries, including China, the European Union, and Ghana.

Local exporters and trade stakeholders have since cautioned that the tariff could disrupt Ghana’s export industry and put pressure on bilateral trade relations between Ghana and the United States.
