Ibrahim Adam, his special adviser on information, spoke about the payment in a statement to the press on Sunday.

The scholars of medicine and nursing had graduated between 2015 and 2019.

However, their certificates were withheld by the university due to outstanding fees owed by the state government.

They secured the scholarships when Abdullahi Ganduje, national chair of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was governor of the state.

Adam said Yusuf is determined to rectify the “injustice” and secure the future of Kano’s youth.

He said the certificates are set to be handed over to the Kano State Scholarship Board through the Nigerian Ambassador to Turkey.

“This situation has been a significant setback for our children, hindering their dreams and aspirations, and it has also affected our state, which is in dire need of their expertise,” the aide quoted the governor as saying.

Adam said Kano is poised to realise its full potential under Yusuf and the graduates are ready to make impactful contributions to their communities.

“Governor Yusuf’s commitment to empowering the youth serves as an enduring reminder that with dedication and decisive action, a brighter future is attainable for all,” he added.

Nigeria currently have enough medical personnel.
