Aaron Rodgers in a Steelers jersey looks as weird as it sounds

Published 21 hours ago2 minute read

For the second time in his career, quarterback Aaron Rodgers is going to look very, very strange wearing another NFL team's jersey.

With Rodgers reportedly planning on signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers this month, the future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback will don one of the most iconic jerseys in league history.

It's not easy to project how Rodgers will do once he arrives in Pittsburgh, but it's easy to get whiplash from the very notion that this is a thing that's actually happening. Rodgers really is going to play for the Steelers.

Looking at him even in a mocked-up image in a Steelers jersey is weird. Seriously, who could predicted this a couple of years ago?

While Steelers fans might sell themselves on a future where Rodgers leads them to the Promised Land, the rest of us will just keep up with our head-scratching and wondering why the Steelers chose this path.

Rodgers never really found much success with the New York Jets, through factors out of his control (2023) and in his control (2024). What makes the Steelers think this will go any differently?

We'll have to see how this all plays out once the pads go on this fall, but the Steelers are taking a pretty big risk on Rodgers in 2025. The sight of him in a Pittsburgh uniform is quite strange, as is this whole ordeal.
