The Denver City Council spent $693,000 Monday to shoo people experiencing homelessness off the streets downtown, near Ballpark and on Capitol Hill. “Dream Center Denver will provide street outreach services that will serve an average of 125 people experiencing homelessness weekly, providing peer navigation, referrals to community services, and encampment cleanup, including removing 100-150 pounds of trash weekly, needle removal, and graffiti removal,” according to a memo from city staff to the council. “They also coordinate a weekly community dinner that serves 120 people experiencing homelessness, during which they provide resource navigation services.”
