90 Day's Mahogany Roca Seemingly Breaks Silence on Ben Rathbun's Death | In Touch Weekly
90 Day Fiancé star seemingly broke her silence after the death of her husband, Ben Rathbun.
“I love you more than anyone, I love you forever and ever. I’m crying writing this but I still don’t know how tell internet about his privacy life and my privacy life,” Mahogany wrote on Tuesday, May 20, alongside a carousel of photos via an unverified Instagram account.
The Peru native included a series of never-before-seen photos of the couple, including one of Ben where he smiled at her from the front seat of a vehicle.
“Guys he was a saint, he was a real Christian before he pass, he made peace with life and God and everyone, he was a peace maker, a child of God, he love life, he love love life, an angel in real person,” she wrote. “No one can’t talk bad, Anymore! He was and is INNOCENT OF EVERYTHING. This is my true I’m not talking for the law. Just for me, HE IS AN INNOCENT PERSON! Please, for my peace! No more speculation about his life. Was perfect, it doesn’t matter his past. His present was a real child of God.”
News of Ben’s death made headlines on Monday, May 20. A family source told TMZ he had been battling stage IV stomach cancer since late 2024. The 90 Day Fiancé star passed away that morning at age 55, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Greencastle, Indiana.
Ben Rathbun
Prior to TMZ’s confirmation, 90 Day Fiancé blogger was the first to report the news and revealed that Mahogany was by his side in the States and Ben was “too weak for chemotherapy.”
Ben was best known for his controversial romance with Mahogany due to their 30-year age gap. The pair met virtually, and only three months later, the Michigan native traveled to Peru to meet his online love. The trip was captured during season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days in 2021.
It wasn’t exactly an instant connection for the TLC personalities, as Mahogany stood Ben up at the airport when he landed and their first dinner date was seen as “awkward” by fans. Later in the season, Ben also learned that Mahogany was 22 years old instead of 24, as she had previously told him.
The tell-all filmed in January 2022 turned out to be a challenging moment for Ben and Mahogany. In addition to facing criticism from their fellow 90 Day Fiancé castmates about their relationship, Mahogany was put on the spot when host Shaun Robinson asked about where things stood. The Peru native responded, “Benjamin needs to prove more: if he [has] a good intention.”
“We have a very young relationship. It’s very new,” Ben added. “And she’s worried that I’m still not here for the right reasons. And it takes trust. There’s no replacement for trust, and there’s no replacement for time. You can’t substitute anything for that. No matter how much you love someone, so it’s going to take a while.”
After weathering the highs and lows of their relationship, Ben and Mahogany announced their engagement in August 2022. They later shared on a February 2024 episode of 90 Day Diaries that they had officially tied the knot.
