What will the pension be once the 8th Pay Commission recommendations are implemented? This question is in the minds of many central government pensioners who are eagerly waiting for their pension revision. The payouts rose significantly in the 7th Pay Commission after a 2.57 fitment factor was applied. Will there be a similar hike this time also? It is premature to say, but if the 8th CPC decides on a fitment in a range of 2+, pensions can rise significantly. In this write-up, we are giving 40 projections for each of the 10 pension slabs at a fitment factor in the 2.10-2.50 range. 

The 8th CPC was announced in January 2025. In April, the government opened some vacancies for the 8th Pay Commission, but those were basic-level posts and not for chairman or members.

The government is yet to give any details about the appointment of the chairman and members. Once the commission is formed, it will start its work for the report.

The commission will decide the fitment factor.

So, it will be known once the 8th CPC report is formed and approved.

However, experts and analysts have suggested many factors in the range of 1.92-2.86.

Some suggest that the government can repeat the fitment factor of 2.57. 

We will calculate revised pensions for pensioners getting payouts of Rs 14,200, Rs 20,200, Rs 25,250, Rs 31,100, Rs 34,000, Rs 40,100, Rs 44,200, Rs 49,750, Rs 52,950 and Rs 56,200.

We will calculate each pension at a 2.10-2.50 fitment factor.
