While it’s no secret I love shoes — I mean, I am a shopping writer after all — I hold a very special place for sneakers. While I wouldn’t consider myself a sneakerhead, there’s something about the comfortable shoe I keep returning to. When I got my hands on a pair of Wales Bonner x Adidas Samba sneakers for retail price, I felt like I had won the lottery (not to be dramatic). That said, I am thoughtful about my purchases and tend to hold onto pairs for seasons upon seasons, but every once in a while, I like to refresh my closet with new styles. With spring around the corner, I desperately need inspiration, and I know exactly where to find it. 

From Katie Holmes to Jennifer Lawrence, celebrities always have a pulse on the next ‘It’ sneaker before they become mainstream or start the trend themselves. I rounded up seven pairs of celebrity-worn styles that are bound to become the next big thing this spring, from sporty trainers to elevated white sneakers.

Whenever I’m searching for a new, on-trend sneaker, I know I can look to Katie Holmes for inspiration. The street style icon has been known to favor Adidas Sambas, but lately, Holmes seemed to have swapped out the Gen-Z loved sneaker for the sporty Autry Medalist Sneaker. You can shop Holmes’s pair here, but I have my eye on this breathable knitted style from the brand for transitioning into spring.

Move over Adidas Sambas; the Puma Speedcat sneaker is about to be the next big sneaker trend. Celebrities like Rihanna and Emily Ratajkowski have been loyal fans of the sneaker style, and Dua Lipa hopped on the trend. The simple silhouette makes this sneaker easy to wear, while the suede outer makes it a seamless day-to-night option, whether you style them with jeans or a mini dress for spring.

As somebody always on the go, I love a comfortable trainer to throw on when running errands or doing weekend activities. Jennifer Garner was spotted in this pair of spring-ready sneakers from Seavees, and as a fan of the sustainable brand, I knew they’d be a perfect trainer for the upcoming season. While Garner’s pair is no longer available, I found the Acorn Trainers to be a close match that definitely deserved a spot on my sneaker wishlist.
