for James Gunn‘s Superman, and MCU just released the first teaser for Fantastic Four. Fans noticed how both films’ teasers showcase civilians being stunned and looking around, stopping in the middle of their work to see a possible spectacle. Although the Marvel flick features civilians being amazed by heroes, the DC flick shows civilians looking concerned, potentially by the arrival of some villainous entity.

However, while we won’t know for sure what the ‘civilians’ in both pictures seem to be stunned by until the release of the flicks, fans nonetheless are busy making conspiracy theories that this is intentional, while others believe it is just a coincidence. Whatever it may be, there is no denying that fans’ expectations are at an unprecedented level from both movies.

Directed by Matt Shakman, famous for WandaVision, the first MCU Fantastic Four movie is set in the backdrop of a vibrant 1960s-esque world with a retro-futuristic look. Making the most of its unusual aesthetic, the teaser of the film features people dressed in old fashion and a crowd of spectators looking at the launch of the Fantastic Four into space.

However, the thing that fans hated the most about the teaser was not its pacing, theme, sequence, or anything like that. Rather, fans dislike how the $31 billion worth MCU (via The Numbers) has reused the same kids’ stock laughter twice in the teaser.

I can’t believe they used that same stock laugh twice in less than 10 seconds… so lazy.

Same "kids laughing" stock audio played three times in 20 seconds. Disney reaching completely unprecedented levels of not giving a shit. https://t.co/J8vThbhJCU

i don’t know why it’s so hard for hollywood to just get a sound bit of kids running and laughing.

That is the worst stock child laugh in the history of Hollywood. I wish studios would just collectively agree to never use it and delete all copies. Other than that, I’m hyped for the trailer!

The stock "children laughing" track was used twice in 20 seconds… Not a great sign.

The infamous stock laughter sound has already been used in other films as well, leading to fans becoming more disappointed over Marvel’s actions. With the trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps dropping tomorrow, fans’ hopes have dwindled a bit thanks to the teaser, but they remain excited for the release of the film.
