Dalung made the bold statement during an on New Central TV on Friday, where he expressed deep dissatisfaction with the current state of governance, accusing Tinubu’s government of inflicting hardship on Nigerians.
According to Dalung, the Tinubu-led administration has declared war on ordinary citizens by “weaponizing poverty, hunger, and hardship” while promoting “corruption, impunity, and injustice.”
“Nigerians should buckle up for 2027 because the battle line has been drawn. The government of President Bola Tinubu has declared war against the Nigerian people. The government has weaponized poverty, hunger and hardship, and has popularised corruption, impunity and injustice,” he said.
He stressed that the only path forward is for political leaders across opposition parties to unite under the ADC coalition and mobilise against the ruling party.
“The only option we have now is to align with the coalition movement, to reposition ourselves and confront the government in 2027,” Dalung added.
Dalung further expressed confidence that Tinubu’s defeat is inevitable, even if his close family members occupy key positions in institutions like the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“Like I promised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, even if the 36 state governors defect to the APC and he appoints his son, Seyi Tinubu as chairman of INEC, and maybe he appoints his wife as the chief justice of Nigeria, he will still be defeated in 2027,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to brace themselves for the 2027 elections, describing the upcoming polls as a critical battle for the nation’s future.
