Kendrapada: Two persons died and a man was injured in a road accident near Mahulakhla village on Kalaraji to Kusmunda road under Kaliapani police limits in Jajpur district on Monday night when their car dashed against a roadside tree.

The deceased have been identified as Sanjay Mohant, 25, of Mahulakhala village and Biswanath Mohant, 24, of Kadambadi village under Kaliapani police limits. Both died on the spot after suffering serious head injuries. They were returning to their villages from Duburi in their four wheeler when the car dashed against a tree at 11.30 pm. The injured man is now undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, said IIC, Kaliapani police station, Shiba Charana Behera.The loud sound of the accident drew the attention of nearby residents who came out and managed to drag the bodies and injured person out of the mangled car.
